Students pursuing the sports journalism concentration will enjoy prime access at a leading Southeastern Conference university. Those majoring in journalism and contributing to student media get to report on Auburn's football, basketball, baseball, gymnastics, soccer, swimming, diving teams, along with various other collegiate, club, and intramural sports. Their journalism curriculum teaches the craft of sports storytelling—moving beyond player statistics and game results to deliver engaging narratives, breaking news across different media formats, and examining sports' societal impact. Complementary electives cover topics like the economics of professional and college sports, health and wellness, coaching techniques, sports psychology, marketing fundamentals, management strategies, nutrition's role in athletic performance, and America's sports culture.
