The MM performance program focuses on musical performance and instruction, with a strong performance component.
Under faculty guidance, students reach professional performance standards through solo recitals, chamber groups, and participation in various ensembles like choral, orchestral, jazz, musical theater, and opera, based on their specialization. On-campus and off-campus performance experiences enhance the skills required to emerge as musical leaders through teaching, performing, or arts advocacy. Collaborations with music scholars, theorists, composers, educators, dancers, and theater professionals give students comprehensive preparation for advanced music careers or doctoral studies.
Students also acquire essential professional skills such as audition techniques, networking, organizational methods, creating opportunities, and cultivating an entrepreneurial approach to their musical careers.
