Customize your journey with innovative approaches that position sustainability as a catalyst for employee involvement, cost efficiency, and breakthrough ideas. Thunderbird's MGM program specializing in sustainability solutions equips students for tomorrow's careers. This focus area delivers a degree that advances both professional growth and environmental stewardship. There's growing need for visionary leaders with sustainability expertise—professionals who can implement sustainable principles and technologies to solve complex issues while integrating knowledge across fields to address pressing global sustainability concerns.

According to the World Economic Forum, empathy and teamwork are essential skills for effective global management—qualities equally vital for sustainability careers. These competencies stem from cultivated social capital. Our program fosters this through hands-on fieldwork, collaborative projects, and challenging tasks. Students master building lasting, trust-based connections—the foundation of social capital—with international peers by acquiring intercultural empathy skills, personal influence techniques, and diplomatic persuasion methods.

This specialization is jointly offered with ASU's School of Sustainability.

For over seven decades, Thunderbird School of Global Management has cultivated distinctive leaders across industries—individuals equipped to solve global problems. Our alumni network spans 45,000 graduates with 170 worldwide chapters.
