Recent studies highlight how millennials prioritize principles like environmental responsibility and social equity, with many seeking careers in nonprofit and government sectors (Chamberlain, 2018). Yet just 7% of federal workers are under 30 (Curry, 2017), revealing a disconnect between young professionals' career aspirations and their limited presence in public service. This gap suggests public administration programs must evolve to address modern workforce demands by combining global management expertise with public sector training.
To address this emerging need, Thunderbird School of Global Management partnered with ASU's Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions to develop a public administration concentration within its top-ranked MGM program. https://publicservice.asu.edu/
This specialization caters to aspiring leaders who want public service competencies within their global management toolkit, as well as students pursuing careers in public institutions or roles intersecting with policy and global business. Designed by Thunderbird's distinguished faculty, the program incorporates Watts College coursework in public administration.
Participants gain comprehensive skills and fundamental knowledge in policy analysis, leadership, and public sector management to serve communities effectively. The program equips graduates for executive positions in international governmental agencies and nonprofit organizations.
