The interdisciplinary studies MA is a creative degree program enabling students to blend multiple academic disciplines in their coursework. Built on the principle that modern challenges demand cross-disciplinary solutions, this adaptable curriculum introduces diverse research approaches, interdisciplinary viewpoints, and investigative techniques.
Students complete three core MAS classes, six electives, and a culminating capstone project in their final term, while benefiting from guidance by faculty experienced in interdisciplinary research. With faculty support, participants can develop personalized focus areas or select from established concentrations across humanities, arts, and social sciences.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants must fulfill the requirements of both the Graduate College and the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences.

Applicants are eligible to apply to the program if they have earned a bachelor's or master's degree, in any field, from a regionally accredited institution.

Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = A) in the last 60 hours of their first bachelor's degree program, or applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = A) in applicable master's degree program.
