ASU's School of Sustainability empowers students to reimagine and redesign our planet's future amid growing global challenges. The school emphasizes hands-on learning through international study opportunities, collaborative faculty research, community involvement, and leadership cultivation. Today's innovations and discoveries will directly influence tomorrow's societal and environmental well-being.
Students can pursue two sustainability degree paths: a BA or BS. Each curriculum grounds sustainability principles in actual global issues while equipping learners with actionable strategies to address critical ecological, economic, and social concerns. The programs teach holistic problem-solving through lenses like adaptive systems theory, cross-scale interconnectedness, ethical decision-making, stakeholder collaboration, future scenario planning, and other advanced methodologies.
The Bachelor of Science program particularly suits students drawn to quantitative sustainability dimensions, including energy systems, material flows, economic models, and ecological sciences.
