The BSN nursing curriculum emphasizes evidence-based practice, clinical judgment, innovation, collaborative communication, and healthcare technology, equipping graduates to provide exceptional patient care. Students can earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing through multiple specialized tracks.
Traditional prelicensure BSN nursing track
This full-time, upper-division program prepares students for RN licensure through a BSN degree. With three annual intakes (spring, summer, fall), students can complete the program in either a 16-month continuous schedule or a 24-month academic calendar. Upon completion, graduates qualify to take the NCLEX-RN for registered nurse certification.
Admission occurs through two pathways: direct entry or competitive selection. First-year freshmen meeting specific requirements may secure direct admission, provided they maintain eligibility throughout their ASU studies. Transfer students or those changing majors can apply through the competitive process for any available spots.
Accelerated BSN nursing program
This intensive 12-month upper-division program prepares students for RN licensure via a fast-track BSN. Admission is selective, requiring prerequisite completion before application. Graduates become eligible to take the NCLEX-RN examination.
Online RN to BSN completion program
Designed for practicing RNs with associate degrees and current state licensure, this flexible online program features 7.5-week courses completable in 14-24 months. With five annual start dates, coursework includes digital learning components and local clinical placements. Arizona community college graduates benefit from transfer agreements. Note: Not available to residents of Tennessee, Rhode Island, or Washington.
