The informatics bachelor's degree offers a versatile option for those pursuing applied information and computing technologies. It imparts skills in designing and implementing computer systems while enabling the creation of applications utilized across various disciplines. Students gain expertise in developing software for devices ranging from supercomputers to smartphones and even smaller gadgets. Informatics challenges involve crafting, building, and deploying tools that model, assist, or automate processes in fields like science, engineering, business, geography, education, and entertainment.
You’re considered a first-year student if you graduated from a regionally accredited high school or earned your GED, and you never attended college or have fewer than 12 transferable college credit hours.
First-year students must have a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) (a "B" or better where "A"=4.00) from a secondary school.
English proficiency
TOEFL iBT (internet-based test) - the minimum score is 61 (iBT)
TOEFL pBT (paper-based test) - minimum score is 57
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - The overall band score requirement for the academic test is at least 6.0.
Pearson Test of English (PTE) - ASU requires a score of at least 53.
Duolingo English test - minimum score of 95.
