The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art with a printmaking focus hones students' abilities in technical methods, idea formation, and innovative solutions for tackling key issues in artistic, social, and community contexts. The printmaking program builds a solid grounding in diverse print media across both classic and modern forms, while promoting exploration and cultivating distinctive artistic voices. Cross-disciplinary collaboration is strongly supported, with students frequently engaging with fields like photography, mixed media, social arts, textiles, painting, drawing, and sculpture.
Faculty instruct in fully outfitted studios for intaglio, lithography, relief printing, book arts, letterpress, screen printing, paper production, and digital fabrication. Specialized courses include traditional copper photogravure techniques, letterpress operations, and papermaking workshops.
Prospective students select their BFA specialization during ASU enrollment. After admission, those wishing to modify their concentration can consult with the School of Art's academic guidance team.
