Forensic psychology applies psychological principles to legal matters. The BA program's forensic psychology concentration blends foundational psychology education with focused studies in criminal law, offender behavior, mental health assessment and treatment, and judicial processes.

In legal proceedings involving psychological considerations, courts often consult psychologists for expert insights. For instance, these professionals might evaluate a defendant's mental condition during an offense or assess potential racial bias in jury selection. These scenarios represent the core of forensic psychology practice.

The curriculum prepares students for diverse psychological roles within the justice system, guiding them toward potential careers in mental health services, law enforcement, or advanced academic study.
