The BA program in German immerses students in the language, literature, and cultural traditions of German-speaking communities while developing proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. This dynamic curriculum features stimulating courses and immersive experiences guided by dedicated faculty committed to student success. Through German studies, learners examine how German-speaking Europeans:
interpret reality via literary works, cinema, performing arts, and cultural expressions
interact with political systems, economic structures, social equity movements, and humanitarian efforts
contemplate philosophical ideas, historical legacies, and ecological concerns
have emerged as international pioneers in commerce, technology, and scientific research
The program strongly recommends participation in either the School of International Letters and Cultures' summer study abroad in Regensburg or semester/year-long exchange programs at various German universities.
