Disability is a fundamental aspect of human diversity. People with disabilities actually represent the biggest minority group in the U.S., comprising about 25% of the population. Over the past two decades, disability studies has grown into a significant academic discipline, offering students a comprehensive perspective on the social, cultural, political, and economic aspects of disability.
The Bachelor's degree in disability studies equips students to create meaningful societal change. The program teaches students to challenge the exclusion of individuals with disabilities while developing valuable research, advocacy, and policy development skills that are highly relevant across various careers.
This undergraduate major qualifies for the Western Undergraduate Exchange program at West campus. Eligible students from Western states choosing this major and campus location may qualify for reduced out-of-state tuition, set at 150% of Arizona resident rates plus any additional fees.
