Our Bachelor of Arts in Design Program equips students with essential communication abilities to present design concepts effectively, apply analytical thinking and research methods to assess worldwide, socio-economic, and historical impacts on design, build professional connections through targeted interviewing approaches, draw inspiration from both contemporary and historical design movements, utilize professional-grade technology for concept development, and tackle design problems considering cultural, geographic, political, environmental, regulatory, and ethical perspectives.
Students begin our 91-unit Bachelor of Arts in Design Degree Program after earning their Associate of Arts Degree from FIDM in majors such as Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Textile Design, or Visual Communications. The program also accepts transfer students with relevant Associate's degrees from other accredited institutions. Throughout the Bachelor's curriculum, students gain comprehensive understanding of design's universal principles while developing the skills to craft creative solutions that merge modern trends, significant art history periods, and fundamental design concepts as inspirational sources.
