Our Bachelor of Arts in Design Program equips students with essential communication abilities to present design concepts effectively, apply analytical thinking and research methods to assess worldwide, socio-economic, and historical impacts on design, build professional connections through targeted interviewing approaches, merge contemporary and historical influences for creative inspiration, utilize professional-grade technology to realize design visions, and tackle design problems considering cultural, geographical, political, environmental, legal, and ethical perspectives.
Students begin our 91-unit Bachelor of Arts in Design Degree Program after earning their Associate of Arts Degree from FIDM in disciplines such as Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Textile Design, or Visual Communications. The program also accepts transfer students with relevant Associate's degrees from other accredited institutions. Throughout the Bachelor's curriculum, students gain comprehensive understanding of design's universal applications and develop the framework to produce inventive solutions that integrate modern trends, significant art historical periods, and fundamental design principles as creative springboards.
