Provided by the School of International Service, the Natural Resources and Sustainable Development concentration is exclusively offered via the exchange partnership with the United Nations-affiliated University for Peace in Costa Rica. Participants earn dual degrees from both American University and the University for Peace. This program prepares learners with essential competencies for addressing ecological development challenges worldwide while fostering connections that help bridge the gap between developed and developing nations. Graduates gain the expertise to craft sustainable development policies across local, national, and international scales, promote collaborative approaches to environmental policy-making, and develop techniques for resolving ecological disputes.
