The Arab World Studies Program is intentionally based within the College of Arts and Sciences and serves as a founding component of the Department of Critical Race, Gender, and Culture Studies. These strategic connections enable us to present a holistic perspective on the Arab world, examining aspects like social structures, governance, artistic expressions, spiritual traditions, gender relations, and historical developments as valuable subjects of study. The program leverages diverse scholarly perspectives and course offerings throughout the University, providing students with both comprehensive exposure and specialized knowledge. Our initiative capitalizes on regional expertise found throughout AU's academic community, beginning with CAS while also collaborating with faculty from the School of International Service, the School of Public Affairs, the School of Communications, and the Kogod School of Business.
