Our BEng(Hons) Electronic Engineering program is crafted in collaboration with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and leading industry partners. Experience how engineering will test your abilities and transform your learning approach. You'll address actual challenges through hands-on projects and have the freedom to experiment while creating solutions in our cutting-edge laboratories. Starting 2020, your studies will take place in our brand-new, multimillion-pound Engineering facility. Equipped with engine test bays, aerodynamic tunnels, and specialized learning areas, this building is specifically designed to foster diverse engineering fields.
From your first day, you'll embark on your professional path toward becoming an accredited engineer. Our learning-by-doing approach means you'll continuously apply and refine foundational skills during intensive project weeks, creating both digital and tangible prototypes just as professionals do.
Pursue a career developing electrical systems, enhancing consumer electronics, or addressing complex challenges in communications and energy sectors. Opportunities also abound in manufacturing, transportation, aerospace, and numerous other industries.
Available as a three-year full-time program or four-year sandwich course.

GCSE: Grade C/4 in English Literature or Language and Mathematics, or equivalent. We do not accept Level 2 Key Skills, Functional Skills or Certificate in Adult Numeracy and Literacy as alternatives to GCSEs.
English Language Requirement: International and EU applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent*).
A-level subjects: Grade C in Mathematics plus a pass in one of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Computing/Computer Science, Design and Technology, Electronics, Engineering, ICT, Further Maths, Music Technology, Physics, Statistics. Maths requirement can also be met by the Cambridge Pre-U Mathematics at Merit 3

EDEXCEL (BTEC) Diploma: You must be studying one of the following: Aeronautical Engineering, Construction and the Built Environment, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Engineering, Land-based Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Operations and Maintenance Engineering. To include Merit in one of the following units: Further Engineering Mathematics or Further Mathematics for Construction. Please list the units you are taking in your application. Access: 15 Level 3 credits at Merit in Mathematics and 15 credits at Pass in another Science or Technology subject.
Baccalaureate IB: To include a minimum grade of 5 in Higher Level Mathematics and a pass at Higher Level in one of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Design Technology, Physics, Environmental Systems and Societies

Irish Highers: H2 in Mathematics plus a pass in one of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Technology.
