Cognitive neuroscience explores the biological foundations behind intricate mental capabilities like memory, speech, feelings, sensory interpretation, focus, and awareness.
Whereas psychology studies mental frameworks through behavioral research, neuroscience reveals how these operations unfold within the brain.
Our program offers exclusive access to the York Neuroimaging Centre (YNiC), where you'll gain practical experience with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), magnetoencephalography (MEG), electroencephalography (EEG), and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). You'll master designing, interpreting, and assessing neuroimaging studies while discovering their role in deciphering brain functions.
Hosted by the Psychology Department, the curriculum also integrates knowledge from other university divisions, including the Hull York Medical School.
