This Master of Science program provides a distinctive chance to gain profound knowledge of human clinical anatomy while cultivating expertise in teaching methods, assessment strategies, curriculum development, and educational research. This prepares you to motivate others and take a leadership role in your clinical specialty. The curriculum integrates essential components from both the Clinical Anatomy MSc and our Advance HE-certified Health Professions Education MSc.
Participants will engage in complete cadaver dissection, enabling them to acquire thorough knowledge of human anatomy's intricate structures and their clinical relevance.
Students will obtain hands-on experience with various preserved cadaver specimens using Thiel, Formalin, and plastination methods. The Thiel preservation technique is particularly valuable as it maintains tissue characteristics remarkably similar to living human tissue.
Learners will benefit from instruction by leading clinical anatomy specialists who foster an engaging, supportive academic atmosphere within an inclusive community. Beyond absorbing their knowledge, you'll be encouraged to develop innovative thinking and self-directed learning skills to continually expand your anatomical expertise throughout your professional journey.
The program includes specialized seminars featuring practicing surgeons and medical consultants who present real patient cases, allowing you to connect anatomical knowledge with clinical applications. These experts represent diverse specialties including plastic surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, orthopedics, gastroenterology, radiology, and emergency medicine.
Additionally, this MSc offers extensive professional training for aspiring anatomy educators and researchers. Students can select from various educational electives, studying alongside peers in the Health Professions Education program, and will complete a substantial educational research project with guidance from medical education specialists.
Enrollment in this Clinical Anatomy and Education MSc allows you to apply your pedagogical training by teaching anatomy to medical undergraduates. This practical experience equips you to instruct anatomy in medical settings, regardless of your clinical background. Graduates will accumulate sufficient teaching hours to qualify as Associate Fellows of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).
