Merge artistic innovation with scholarly investigation to cultivate essential abilities for careers in theater production, academic research, or a combination of both. Guided by faculty members specializing in your project's focus area, MA research students will create either:
a 20,000-word scholarly thesis, or a 12,000-word academic paper accompanied by an original creative project. The written component must critically analyze the connection between the research and creative output.
The 20,000 or 12,000-word thesis represents rigorous academic writing, showcasing advanced research capabilities, analytical discussion of relevant theories, historical contexts, creative methodologies, and textual analysis. This written work should establish a conceptual foundation for the creative component while demonstrating sophisticated subject mastery. Proper citation methods and bibliographic standards must be employed. The creative portion may take various forms depending on the research focus, potentially including:
