The Sport and Exercise Science (SES) program is a specialized honors degree that equips students with research-driven theoretical understanding complemented by hands-on skill development, preparing them for careers in Sport and Exercise Science and beyond.
According to the 2022 National Student Survey, all participants expressed satisfaction with the program. Graduate Outcomes data shows that 100% of our alumni are either employed or pursuing advanced studies within 15 months of graduation. Worcester has established itself as a leader in sport and exercise science education, attracting students passionate about the scientific aspects of sports, fitness, and health. This BASES-accredited program, led by active researchers and industry practitioners, offers comprehensive scientific exploration of sports, connecting theory with practical applications across diverse settings and groups - from elite, youth, and para-athletes to older adults and clinical populations in rehabilitation and extreme environments.
The curriculum covers three core scientific disciplines: Psychology, Physiology, and Biomechanics, with additional focus areas like Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, and Performance Analysis. Employability is emphasized throughout all levels, culminating in a final-year professional placement. Our outstanding employment rates reflect this career-focused approach. Combining academic, practical, and professional elements, students experience diverse learning environments and assessment methods. The School maintains international partnerships with institutions across Europe, Asia, North America, and Oceania, offering semester abroad opportunities.
