At Worcester, we're deeply committed to examining how media and culture influence, define, and transform our world. We recognize their profound effects, from shaping individual identities and daily experiences to impacting major historical events and global movements.
We study the mechanisms behind media and cultural influence, exploring questions of power dynamics, visibility, and social transformation.
As a media and culture student, you'll build upon your personal engagement with media while discovering new perspectives. Through contemporary academic frameworks, you'll develop skills to evaluate, interpret, and challenge media and cultural phenomena - enabling you to both respond critically and contribute actively.
Our curriculum covers wide-ranging subjects including gender & sexualities, representation & diversity, identities & cultures, political conflicts, digital activism, environmental media, crime studies, and analyses of music, film, television, and internet cultures.
