Doctoral candidates in the Department of Social Sciences, Inclusion and Public Protection (SSIPP) benefit from guidance by faculty members who are recognized authorities in their respective fields, with extensive research, professional, and publication experience. Each supervision team includes at least one academic with a proven history of successful PhD mentoring, and all supervisors complete the institution's specialized doctoral supervision training program.
SSIPP takes great pride in offering exceptional support throughout postgraduate researchers' doctoral studies. Our faculty members maintain strong dedication to their disciplines, conducting frequent meetings with supervisees to provide comprehensive guidance at every research phase, from initial conception to final submission.
The University of Wolverhampton offers doctoral researchers a collaborative academic atmosphere and top-tier resources, including exclusive postgraduate workspaces, full access to the Harrison Learning Centre, and subscriptions to major Social Science research databases and publications. Faculty members additionally assist PhD candidates in obtaining any specialized materials required for their research projects.
We actively encourage our research students to share their work through departmental seminars, presenting to both faculty members and fellow doctoral candidates. Our experienced supervisors provide valuable support and guidance for these academic presentations.
Postgraduate researchers have access to specialized skill development through training programs offered by both the Faculty of Social Sciences and the University's Doctoral College.
