Specialized workshops will enhance your expertise in Drama education as both a distinct field and teaching approach. You will have to possess a real interest and passion for drama and an ability to think creatively about presenting the subject to others Candidates will need to adopt a flexible approach to the varied topics plays and methods of assessment used in schools at key stage 3 Although your university tutor will provide support you will need to be prepared to carry out research into new areas of subject knowledge and themed topics as delivered by individual drama departments whilst on your school placements Also you will need

To have achieved a standard equivalent to a grade 4 previously Grade C in the GCSE examinations in English and Mathematics
To have taken part in a rigorous selection process designed to assess your readiness to train to teach which will include as a minimum both an interview and audit of your subject knowledge
