This program involves completing a research dissertation focused on an original health and wellbeing topic of your choosing. You'll develop and showcase your expertise through each phase of the project - from design and implementation to assessment - while applying appropriate research frameworks, methodologies, and health science principles. Participants will enhance their postgraduate-level understanding of health and wellbeing, preparing them for advanced research training or concurrent skill development during the dissertation process.

Qualification Requirements

The minimum academic entry requirement is 120 level 7 credits or a completed Postgraduate Diploma at level 7 Masters level in any health welfare or social care related discipline These credits your Diploma must have been fully completed and agreed by an examination board before starting this course

You may also need to attend an interview and to give a 10 minute presentation on your academic progress to date and your ideas for a Masters level independent research project

You may need to take a research methods module to prepare you for your MSc MA top up course and before applying for this course

Normally if you have not studied research methods in your previous PG Diploma or an equivalent within the past 5 years you will need to take the Advanced Research Skills module 7HW012 as an associate student before you can apply for the MSc MA top up course in order to progress to the Research Dissertation 7HW015
Normally if you have not studied research methods in your previous PG Diploma or an equivalent within the past 5 years you will need to take the Critical Awareness of Research module 7HW018 as an associate student before you can apply for the MSc MA top up course in order to progress to the Evidence Based Practice Project 7HW020

Normally if you have not studied research methods in your previous PG Diploma or an equivalent within the past 5 years you will need to take the Professional Consultancy Project Support module 7HW0 as an associate student before you can apply for the MSc MA top up course in order to progress to the Professional Consultancy Project 7HW044
If English is not your first language you will need to have a TOEFL score of 550 or above or an IELTS score of 6.5 or above or evidence of English proficiency equivalent to these scores
