This program focuses on injury prevention and rehabilitation to restore patients to peak functional, occupational, and sports performance. This practical sports therapy course is officially recognized by the Society of Sports Therapists. Students will learn to apply sports science principles and health studies to prepare individuals for training, competition, or workplace demands. The curriculum meets professional standards set by CIMPSA (Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity), equipping graduates with sought-after skills in the fitness industry. Accredited by the UK's leading professional body (SST), the program follows five core competencies: injury prevention, assessment, treatment/referral, recovery, and professional education. Graduates qualify for insured membership with the Society of Sports Therapists. The course features access to advanced facilities including a therapy suite, sports science labs with 3D motion analysis, and an environmental chamber.
We will consider applicants who have not achieved 48 UCAS points (equivalence) from prior level 3 qualifications, if you have a keen interest in this subject area or hold relevant experience. You will be required to attend and pass a compulsory Prepare For Foundation assessment day where you will take part in a variety of activities which will assess your suitability for the course.
