Program structure
First Year: Focuses on fundamental subjects including infectious diseases, physical chemistry, and medicinal chemistry. Examines human biology, physiological processes, and approaches to health maintenance and disease management. Investigates disease mechanisms at molecular level and introduces various microorganisms such as bacteria, algae, protozoa, fungi, and viruses. Also initiates development of versatile professional skills. Second Year: Delves into core concepts of medication creation and applies biochemical and pharmacological principles. Studies disease causation through pathogens and metabolic disorders while identifying potential treatment targets. Analyzes protein characteristics and employs analytical techniques for medication design. Third Year: Offers optional industry experience or direct progression to final studies focusing on therapeutic development with emphasis on efficacy and safety. Investigates cellular membrane properties, laboratory operations, and includes an independent research opportunity.

96 UCAS points

A Levels - grades CCC / BCD to include Chemistry at grade C

BTEC L3 Extended Diploma or OCR Cambridge L3 Technical Extended Diploma in Applied Science or Biomedical Science - grades MMM

Access to HE Diploma (60 credits) of which a minimum of 45 must be at Level 3 (96 UCAS point equivalence, minimum 45 credits at merit to include Maths, Chemistry and Biology)

Students must usually have studied for a minimum of two years post GCSE level. However, we will consider applications from mature students who do not have two years of post-16 study, where they have relevant work experience. 

IELTS - Overall Score of 6.0 with no component less than 5.5 TOEFL IBT - Overall Score of 60 with no component score less than 20.
