This program equips graduates with the qualifications and skills needed to pursue careers as Healthcare Science Practitioners specializing in cardiac physiology or respiratory and sleep science across diverse healthcare environments, from hospitals to community settings. Program highlightsThis accredited program merges academic learning with hands-on clinical training, preparing students with both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise required for Healthcare Science Practitioner roles in Cardiac Physiology or Respiratory and Sleep Physiology.
Students will gain comprehensive understanding of human anatomy and physiology to recognize disease-related abnormalities. The curriculum includes training on specialized diagnostic equipment operation, clinical data interpretation, and understanding how test outcomes inform treatment plans. Practical skills are honed through university-arranged clinical placements and our on-campus skills lab.Professional excellence remains central throughout clinical training, with emphasis on developing research capabilities to enhance specialized practice. We strive to cultivate patient-focused Healthcare Science Practitioners. Upon graduation, students qualify for physiologist positions in Cardiac or Respiratory and Sleep Science and become eligible for registration with theAcademy for Healthcare Science(AHCS).
All students being accepted onto the course will need to have been selected for a hospital placement through selection interviews which involve a formal skills-based assessment prior to admission.
Applicants must have achieved GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C/4+ will be required.   No equivalences are accepted.
Plus either:
 
IELTS: Overall Score of 6.0 with no component less than 5.5; TOEFL: Overall Score of 60 with no component score less than 20; Pearson Test of English: Overall Score of 59 with no component score less than 59.
