The curriculum incorporates all vital components to ensure graduates are ready for diverse roles in today's automotive engineering field.For students enrolling in 2025, the initial year will be based at Telford Campus, with subsequent years transitioning to our City (Springfield) Campus.The University of Wolverhampton provides comprehensive facilities, dedicated workspaces, and practical learning opportunities designed to maximize your skill development.What to expect during the programAll our engineering degrees share a foundational first year, enabling you to explore various disciplines before specializing. You'll study Mathematics alongside core principles of Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, and Production Engineering. Practical laboratory sessions will complement your learning, applying production knowledge to construct and evaluate designs.During the second year, you'll deepen your automotive expertise in areas like Control Systems, Thermodynamics and Fluids, Mechanics, Vibration and Stress Analysis. You'll also develop design specifications, master 3D CAD software, and study Engineering Management to understand professional engineering responsibilities.After your second academic year, we strongly recommend an industrial placement year to enhance employability and contribute toward your professional development as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.In your final year, you'll undertake an individual project, expand your automotive specialization, and learn the process of transforming concepts into commercial opportunities.
