The Centre for Parallel Computing boasts an impressive history of exploring innovative models and creating groundbreaking solutions for cloud computing applications, while fostering impactful partnerships with industry and public sector entities. Meanwhile, the Distributed and Intelligent Systems Research Group delves into intelligent extreme-scale platforms, emphasizing performance optimization, energy efficiency, and security, along with logic engineering for autonomous systems and advanced concurrent computation frameworks.
State-of-the-art engineering challenges are addressed by the Applied Digital Signal Processing and VLSI Research Group alongside the Wireless Communications Research Group. These teams engage in practical, industry-oriented research and development for systems and subsystems used in advanced commercial technologies. Their work spans digital signal and image processing, sensor networks, IoT solutions, and the development of components and circuits for microwave/RF applications, including next-generation communication systems like 5G and 6G.
