The Professional Legal Practice LLM caters to graduates from other disciplines looking to pursue a legal career. This program teaches both legal theory and its real-world application through client-focused scenarios and ethical challenges. It establishes the groundwork needed to qualify as either a solicitor or barrister, depending on your career aspirations. Upon completion, you'll be prepared to advance toward the Solicitors' Qualifying Examination (SQE) or a Bar Standards Board-approved barrister training program. Additionally, you can earn a Master's-level academic qualification by choosing between our Legal Practice Project module—blending professional skills with scholarly research—or a dissertation on a course-related topic. Tutorials focus on developing practical abilities like legal writing, drafting, client interviews, research, case analysis, and advocacy. Assessments mirror real-world legal tasks, including advocacy exercises, case study reports, legal case analyses, and practice blogs, allowing you to showcase both your legal knowledge and professional competencies. Career Support: Our university's Careers and Employability Service maintains connections with more than 3,000 global employers, offering students access to valuable career opportunities.
