The Games Design BA program equips students with both creative and technical abilities to shape tomorrow's gaming landscape. Throughout the degree, you'll gain expertise in designing compelling player experiences across diverse creative sectors and cutting-edge technologies.During your initial year, you'll share classes with Games Art BA students, mastering fundamental concepts in game art and design, research methodologies, and the cultural significance of games. The curriculum covers concept development, game mechanics, level design, 2D asset production, 3D modeling, and game engine proficiency. After completing your first year, you can choose to continue with Games Design BA or switch to Games Art BA.The program's second and third years deepen your expertise in creating advanced 2D/3D games. Specialization options include narrative design, VR development, or UX design, while examining gaming's worldwide reach, cultural influence, and accessibility considerations. You'll also explore applications of gaming beyond entertainment, including educational uses.Collaboration forms a core component of this degree, featuring cross-disciplinary projects, critiques, and game jams with students from Animation, Graphic Design, Illustration, and Computer Games Development programs. In addition to one of the above, you should have:
GCSE English Language grade 4/C – IB grade 4 Higher level, GCSE Maths Pass– IB Pass
If your first language is not English, you will need an IELTS of 6.0 overall, with 5.5 in each component. TOEFL iBT - 78 overall with a minimum of 17 in Listening, and Writing, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking.
