The Games Art BA program equips you with both artistic abilities and technical expertise to craft visual elements for gaming worlds. You'll develop characters, props, and environments that breathe life into digital games. This degree prepares you to emerge as a skilled games artist capable of producing visual designs and user experiences adaptable to various sectors and cutting-edge technologies.
You'll explore innovative methods and global markets, examine character portrayal in games, and contemplate inclusivity and diversity within the industry. The curriculum investigates both traditional and emerging sectors utilizing games for entertainment and societal improvement (such as educational gaming).
Mirroring real-world game studio dynamics where specialists from diverse fields collaborate, the Games Art BA incorporates joint projects with students from related programs including Graphic Design BA, Illustration BA, Animation BA, and crucially, our complementary Computer Games Development BSc course. This cross-disciplinary teamwork provides hands-on experience collaborating with peers across different specialties in the game development process.
