Our MA in Theatre and Performance Practice immerses you in dual roles as both performer/creator and theatre professional. You'll examine and enhance your understanding of theatrical elements like text, music, spatial dynamics, and physical expression. The program offers multiple perspectives on creative processes, acting techniques, and embodiment, covering:
developing original productions through diverse theatrical approaches
transforming existing materials with dramatic possibilities
exploring characterization methods within wider social, political, cultural, and geographic frameworks
Alongside refining your performance skills, you'll study studio practice organization, including workshop leadership and rehearsal direction, culminating in the production and curation of live performances.

Qualification Requirements

You will need - a minimum of a 2:1 degree in or related to Performing Arts, Performance or Theatre 1,000-word essay - see below any video links to your performance/theatre work. In this essay, we would like you to identify your research interests in the field of theatre and performance, and how these would inform your own practice. You can give some examples of research methods to outline a practice-based theatre or performance project that you might undertake focused on your areas of interest. IELTS - Overall score of 6.5 (minimum of 5.5 in each of the 4 individual components-Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening). TOEFL-(iBT) - Overall score of 86 (Reading 18, Writing 17, Listening 17, Speaking 20)
