Forensic experts utilize scientific methods to examine criminal and civil cases, generating court-admissible evidence. This captivating and meticulous scientific field enhances your understanding of biology and chemistry while developing critical thinking, data analysis, and communication abilities. Spanning crime scene investigation, lab work, and legal proceedings, forensic science serves as a gateway to fulfilling careers within the justice system and related fields. The BSc(Hons) Forensic Science program, accredited by The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences, was developed in collaboration with industry professionals to provide comprehensive insights into crime investigation techniques.

Focusing heavily on analytical reasoning and effectively conveying scientific results, the curriculum covers all aspects from crime scene processing and lab examinations to evidence assessment and presentation. During the foundation year, you'll share modules with students from various biological, biomedical, and environmental science programs, allowing flexibility to change your specialization if desired.

GCSE: Grade C/4 or above in English Language or Literature, Mathematics and Double Science, or equivalent. We do not accept Level 2 Key Skills, Functional Skills or Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy as alternatives to GCSEs.
English Language Requirement: International and EU applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent*).

A-level subjects: A minimum of an AS in a Science subject.
Relevant subjects: Subjects that meet the Science requirement for this course: Applied Science, Biology, Human Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science/Studies, Geography, Geology, Maths. Use of Maths, Physics, Psychology, Science in the Environment, Statistics.
EDEXCEL (BTEC) Diploma: Six units in a Science subject. Please list the units you are studying in your application. For further advice on acceptable units, please email us.

Baccalaureate IB: To include Science at Higher Level.
Irish Highers: A minimum of O4 in a Science subject.

TOEFL - Overall score of 80 or above, including a minimum of 17 in Listening and Writing, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking, PTE - Overall score of 50 with at least 51 in each component (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking).
