Our planet is undergoing swift transformations, making it crucial to address and handle the issues stemming from environmental shifts. By integrating insights from multiple scientific disciplines, environmental scientists assist in deciphering the complex problems we face and proposing critical solutions for Earth's preservation. The BSc(Hons) Environmental Science program combines expertise from diverse areas to provide comprehensive insight into today's global environmental issues. With a practical, experiential learning approach embedded across all coursework, you'll develop proficiency in cutting-edge environmental science techniques and technologies. Conduct independent research in our specialized laboratories and utilize state-of-the-art mapping tools in our exclusive computer facilities. You'll study in Bristol, a center for environmental progress and possibilities, offering access to varied initiatives and partnerships. Participate in internships, volunteer positions, fieldwork, and residential excursions in both natural and urban settings, domestically and internationally.

GCSE: Grade C/4 or above in English Language or Literature, Mathematics and Double Science, or equivalent. We do not accept Level 2 Key Skills, Functional Skills or Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy as alternatives to GCSEs.
English Language Requirement: International and EU applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent*).

A-level subjects: A minimum of an AS in a Science subject.
Relevant subjects: Subjects that meet the Science requirement for this course: Applied Science, Biology, Human Biology, Chemistry, Design Technology, Environmental Science/Studies, Geography, Geology, Maths, Use of Maths, Physical Education, Physics, Psychology, Science in the Environment, Statistics.
EDEXCEL (BTEC) Diploma: Three units in a Science subject. Please list the units you are studying in your application. For further advice on acceptable units, please email us.

Access: Level 3 credits in Science.
Baccalaureate IB: To include Science at Higher Level.
Irish Highers: A minimum of O4 in a Science subject.
T Levels: No specific subjects required.

TOEFL - Overall score of 80 or above, including a minimum of 17 in Listening and Writing, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking, PTE - Overall score of 50 with at least 51 in each component (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking).
