Examining the interplay between individuals, society, crime, and justice deepens our comprehension of the forces influencing human actions, convictions, and perspectives.

By analyzing cultural, political, economic, and human elements, we can identify more efficient strategies to combat criminal activity and lessen its effects on both people and communities. The foundational knowledge and abilities gained from these disciplines will prepare you for diverse professional opportunities. The BA(Hons) Criminology and Sociology program allows you to equally focus on these interconnected fields.

With a varied selection of modules and guidance from our expert faculty, you'll tackle genuine challenges while formulating novel perspectives and remedies to confront crime and aid those impacted by it. You'll conduct independent research, learn from visiting professionals, and gain practical experience through our partnerships with institutions like Bristol Youth Education Service, Gloucester Community Services, and Avon and Somerset Police.
