The BA Sociology program offers a solid foundation for analyzing societal and human evolution throughout history.
Centered on examining social dynamics, sociology's reach is virtually boundless. This curriculum exposes you to its vast subject matter, covering diverse topics from family structures and schooling to criminal justice, employment, conflict, belief systems, economic systems, authority, relationships, identity, mass communication, and beyond. You'll also develop expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies applicable to various academic disciplines.
A key focus of sociology involves investigating primary indicators of social disparity in contemporary society - including economic status, gender, racial background, generation, sexual orientation, and physical ability. You'll examine how these frequently overlap to influence individuals' opportunities and lived experiences. Beyond traditional lectures, engaging seminar discussions will enrich your educational journey.
