The Philosophy Department excels in Philosophy of Mind and Philosophy of Psychology, maintaining robust academic connections with the Psychology Department. Both departments are renowned for their exceptional research output, ensuring you'll learn from faculty members at the forefront of their disciplines.
As a student of philosophical psychology, you'll master the ability to interpret, scrutinize, and formulate intricate theoretical perspectives, blending abstract concepts with practical research findings. The program provides an extensive selection of Philosophy and Psychology modules, along with the flexibility to tailor your academic journey.
The first year curriculum focuses on building essential skills and confidence through diverse teaching methodologies and assessment approaches to support your academic growth.
You have the option to pursue an intercalated year, either studying overseas or completing a professional placement. This extends your degree to four years, with the third year dedicated to international study or practical experience, which will be noted in your final degree title (e.g., BA Philosophy with Psychology with Intercalated Year).
