This combined program enables you to gain comprehensive understanding of French language and culture while examining theater and performance studies. You'll have access to the extensive expertise available across both departments, including cultural and historical courses in Modern Languages, along with specialized theater studies covering historiography, national theater traditions, and performance art that engages with public discourse.

The French and Theatre Studies program provides an opportunity to deeply explore French language and culture while investigating performance studies through both practical and theoretical approaches.

Students can draw upon the complete range of departmental expertise. The Modern Languages department offers diverse cultural and historical courses, while the Theatre and Performance Studies department specializes in areas like African theater, modern European performance, community-based theater, and dramatic writing.
