This Master of Science program provides in-depth expertise in conservation biology.

Our university is located within the Brighton and Lewes Downs UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, adjacent to the South Downs National Park. You'll develop a comprehensive, international perspective on conservation and acquire the skills to address contemporary environmental challenges.

Discover practical strategies conservation biologists employ to tackle preservation issues, with opportunities to participate in distinctive field research projects.

We collaborate with the Sussex Sustainability Research Programme (SSRP), offering an outstanding interdisciplinary research environment that connects the School of Life Sciences, School of Global Studies, Sussex Law School, SPRU Science Policy Research Unit, and the Institute of Developmental Studies.

Qualification Requirements

You should normally have an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree or above.

Subject-specific requirements
Your qualification should be in a relevant subject such as biology, ecology, zoology or conservation. You may also be considered for the course if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.

IELTS (Academic) - Standard level (6.0 overall, including at least 5.5 in each component).
TOEFL (iBT) - 80 overall, including at least 17 in Listening, 18 in Reading, 20 in Speaking, 17 in Writing.
