This program will equip you to pioneer future innovations in healthcare. You'll receive instruction from both our School of Engineering and Informatics and Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS). Our engineering specialists are driving progress in healthcare automation through breakthroughs in fields including: medical imaging and neurophysiology robotic surgery and bio-robotics AI applications neural interface technology neuroscience and biomaterials. At the Medical School, you'll explore human anatomy and physiology while examining how illnesses, injuries, and medical implants affect the body. The curriculum combines theoretical learning with hands-on engineering practice, utilizing advanced robotics and virtual reality laboratories. You'll also work in BSMS's anatomy lab. Your capstone project will involve joint supervision from faculty in both Schools. This program develops your ability to evaluate, create, and implement medical technologies while enhancing your critical thinking and analytical capabilities - skills that will prove valuable in any career path.
You should have a lower second-class (2.2) undergraduate honours degree or above. Your qualification should be in engineering or physics. You may also be considered for the course if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.
