During your politics studies at Sussex, you'll explore concepts, challenges, and political systems.

You'll examine how individuals advocate for their interests and how policymakers create legislation while being accountable for their choices. Collaborating with our UK-based and global specialists, you'll investigate British politics alongside comparative political systems worldwide.

Brighton stands out as one of Britain's most politically varied urban centers. Our acclaimed Politics Society regularly hosts speakers from all political backgrounds, featuring current UK lawmakers like Caroline Lucas and former Deputy PM Michael Heseltine.

Nothing compares to directly observing a nation's political processes. Our Berlin study trip offers four days of meetings with German parliamentarians and political discussions with local students.

Internship Opportunity
In your final year, you can compete for prestigious internships either with a Westminster parliamentarian or through Brighton & Hove City Council's local government program.
