The Arts and Humanities Foundation Year at Sussex equips you with the necessary skills to confidently begin your degree studies. Through specialized support, you'll enhance your abilities in critical thinking, argument formation, and self-expression.
Experience university-level learning across diverse disciplines including history, philosophy, art history, and literature. Customize your academic journey by selecting from our extensive range of optional modules that align with your interests.
During this Foundation Year, you can select core modules from three distinct pathways:
Reading Literature 1 (autumn term) and 2 (spring term)
Making History A (autumn term) and B (spring term)
Introduction to Media, Film and Music (autumn term) and Media, Film and Music Analysis (spring term).
You'll focus on two of these pathways as your core curriculum, with the option to explore the third pathway or select from additional electives.
