Your doctoral studies will take place within one of our research teams in the School of Sustainability, Civil and Environmental Engineering. You'll focus on developing intelligent and eco-friendly urban spaces, tackling issues like limited space availability and outdated infrastructure systems.
Through collaboration with various University departments and schools, we provide opportunities for cross-disciplinary research at multiple scales. This approach transcends conventional academic boundaries, allowing scientific investigation to develop practical engineering solutions for real-world industry challenges, both domestically and internationally.
You'll gain from our outstanding employment outcomes: all our civil and environmental engineering postgraduate researchers secure employment or continue their studies, with an average starting salary of £39,000 (Graduate Outcomes 2022). We also provide numerous funded studentships through collaborations with industry leaders.
