Our Medical Physics MSc program welcomes students from across the UK and around the world to investigate this subject, learning cutting-edge methods that are pushing medical boundaries. With over 1,000 medical physicists trained through our program and accreditation from the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM), you'll benefit from exceptional instruction. Significant external funding options exist for enrolled students, such as the IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (supporting women in nuclear fields) and The Nuclear Industry Benevolent Fund's Bursary Scheme. Visit our Funding section for details.
This MSc curriculum equips students with the expertise, competencies, and practical training needed for medical physics careers. Unlike comparable programs, ours gives greater attention to non-ionizing radiation applications, covering magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, and medical laser uses. You'll master the theoretical principles behind contemporary imaging and therapies while developing crucial experimental abilities. These skills are cultivated through hands-on work in our recently upgraded radiation labs and practical training with advanced clinical equipment at partner hospitals.
