Our BEng and MEng programs are designed in collaboration with industry partners. These courses will provide you with essential technical abilities and analytical thinking to solve practical engineering challenges, setting you up for a rewarding career in chemical and process engineering. Throughout this program, you'll engage with the entire chemical engineering workflow: our £1.7 million facility features a fully functional pilot plant that you'll utilize during your studies and operate collaboratively in your third year. Additionally, you can participate in our acclaimed Professional Training scheme, designed to equip students for industrial careers. A standout feature of Surrey is our recognized Professional Training placements that ready students for industry roles.
Our curriculum addresses contemporary industry challenges, blending core chemical engineering principles with interdisciplinary design, biochemical engineering, and sustainable practices. You'll learn from award-winning faculty members while building a comprehensive knowledge foundation applicable throughout the chemical sector. In your third year, you'll implement this knowledge through group process design projects. You can enroll in either the BEng or MEng track, with the MEng program extending the BEng through a master's year - the fastest pathway to chartered engineer status. MEng students may also collaborate on cross-disciplinary projects with engineering peers across the university.
