Our BEng and MEng programs are designed in collaboration with industry partners. You'll develop both technical expertise and critical thinking abilities to tackle practical engineering challenges, equipping you for rewarding careers in oil and gas, petrochemicals, or energy sectors. The program offers hands-on experience with our £1.7 million chemical engineering facility, featuring a fully operational pilot plant that you'll utilize throughout your studies and manage collaboratively in your third year. Additionally, you can participate in our acclaimed Professional Training placements program, designed to prepare students for industrial roles.
Both our BEng and MEng degrees address contemporary industry challenges, blending core chemical engineering principles with interdisciplinary design projects, specialized petrochemical coursework, and sustainability studies. You'll learn from award-winning faculty and seasoned industry professionals, building a comprehensive knowledge foundation applicable to diverse career paths in the global energy industry. Applicants can choose between the BEng or MEng track, with the MEng program extending the BEng curriculum through a master's year, providing a direct pathway to chartered engineer status. MEng students may collaborate on cross-disciplinary projects with peers from other engineering disciplines. Subject to academic performance, BEng students may have the opportunity to transfer to the MEng program during their studies. Discover more about the advantages of an integrated master's degree.
