Our Biomedical Engineering (BEng) and Integrated Master's (MEng) programs are delivered by distinguished faculty members, leveraging over five decades of expertise in educating biomedical engineers. Students benefit from exceptional facilities including: cutting-edge microengineering labs, clinical-standard human motion analysis laboratories, and specialized bioelectronics research spaces. Our Design Centre offers advanced design software and CNC machining capabilities. The program features our renowned Professional Training scheme, providing industry placements with major healthcare and engineering organizations including GE Healthcare, DePuy Synthes, 3M, Abbott, Renishaw, and NHS partners. Both degrees hold accreditation from the IET and IMechE.
These clinically-focused biomedical engineering programs cover an extensive curriculum encompassing human biomechanics, medical device development, biosensing technologies, prosthetic design, biomedical data analysis, and implant engineering. Applicants can choose between the three-year BEng or four-year MEng pathway, with potential for inter-program transfer based on academic performance. The MEng offers an efficient route to master's level qualification, incorporating an additional year of advanced study. Discover more about the advantages of our integrated master's program.
