Engage in a rapidly evolving field of study that holds growing significance in today's world. Support our integrated 'One Health, One Medicine' philosophy, uniting specialists from diverse disciplines. Undertake a blend of research and clinical work spanning two to three years (full-time) or four to six years (part-time). Experience a comprehensive research approach, with opportunities to participate in molecular investigations, computational analyses, and clinical studies. Collaborate with internationally renowned researchers whose work appears in prestigious journals like BMJ, Nature, and The Lancet, and who frequently provide expert insights in media.
Your specific research focus may involve clinical projects to gather data supporting your final dissertation. While some studies primarily analyze existing scientific or clinical datasets, all projects incorporate statistical evaluation. Research may be conducted at Surrey or through partnerships with other institutions.
Final evaluation will assess your written thesis presentation, followed by an oral examination with a minimum of two evaluators. You may choose between a traditional monograph format or a publication-style thesis (with chapters suitable for journal submission), pending supervisory approval.
